Buchanan Blacklisted

My days as a political analyst at MSNBC have come to an end.  After 10 enjoyable years, I am departing, after an incessant clamor from the left that to permit me continued access to the microphones of MSNBC would be an outrage against decency, and dangerous.

The calls for my firing began almost immediately with the Oct. 18 publication of "Suicide of a Superpower: Will America Survive to 2025?"

Without a hearing, they smear and stigmatize as racist, homophobic or anti-Semitic any who contradict what George Orwell once called their "smelly little orthodoxies." They then demand that the heretic recant, grovel, apologize, and pledge to go forth and sin no more. Defy them, and they will go after the network where you work, the newspapers that carry your column, the conventions that invite you to speak. If all else fails, they go after the advertisers. I know these blacklisters. They operate behind closed doors, with phone calls, mailed threats and off-the-record meetings. They work in the dark because, as Al Smith said, nothing un-American can live in the sunlight.

92% want Buchanan on MSNBC

92 percent of voters in an online poll conducted by Mediabistro.com want Patrick J. Buchanan to be able to go on MSNBC to discuss his New York Times Best Seller, Suicide of a Superpower: Will America Survive to 2025?

Color of Change, a left-wing organization with eight known members, has been calling for MSNBC to muzzle Buchanan, the former advisor to three U.S. Presidents, because of his book. The poll results indicate that the Color of Change Censorship Campaign has backfired.

Mediabistro.com, which runs the TV Newser website, asked readers yesterday, “Should Pat Buchanan be allowed on MSNBC to talk about his book?” As of 3:15 p.m. EST today, 92 percent of respondents said yes, while only a mere 5 percent said no.

According to Michael Calderone of The Huffington Post, an unnamed MSNBC Executive has told him that MSNBC made a “conscious decision” not to have Buchanan on air to promote his book. The allegation has been disputed.

Buchanan Banned from MSNBC?

UPDATE: Visit our latest blog post: 92% want Buchanan on MSNBC.

The Huffington Post's Michael Calderone and his leftist pals are spreading a smear: Buchanan has been banned from MSNBC.

While Patrick J. Buchanan is off his regular gig at MSNBC so that he can promote his New York Times Best Seller, Suicide of a Superpower, Calderone, taking his lead from anti-Catholic bigots and left-wing loud mouths, is regurgitating an unverified, false claim.

And now TV Newser's Managing Editor has been duped.

Chris Ariens (pictured) writes, "An MSNBC executive told HuffPo's Michael Calderone that there had been a conscious decision not to have Buchanan on air because of the views expressed in the book..."

But if Ariens had read Calderone's revised posting, he'd note Buchanan has been on air AFTER his book launch. In addition, MSNBC declined to comment on the matter according to Calderone's same blog post.

So our question, who is this so-called "MSNBC executive?"  Why isn't Ariens verifying with his reliable sources at MSNBC and instead relying on the unreliable Calderone?

As sloppy and lazy as Calderone is, sadly Ariens has matched or exceeded his pal's slothfulness.

Left-Wing Conspiracies, MSNBC, and Buchanan

If it wasn't bad enough with the orchestrated name-calling by left-wing groups, liberal conspiracy theorists are now claiming Patrick J. Buchanan is MIA on MSNBC since the launch of his New York Times Best Seller, Suicide of a Superpower.

Michael Calderone (pictured) of the liberal blog site The Huffington Post was forced to correct his story today after alleging that Buchanan hadn't been on MSNBC since October 15th.

If Calderone had done his homework, he'd had listened to the Imus in the Morning Show simulcasted on the Fox Business Network on October 18th:
Imus: "When you have a book, they [MSNBC] let you appear with me? or..." Buchanan: "When I have a book...I say they [MSNBC] say you can wander off the reservation, go to various places, as long as you come back."
But the left isn't satisfied and seems to be drooling over nothing. And what Calderone really failed to emphasize was Buchanan's positive relationship with MSNBC. He only mentioned it in passing:
While discussing Buchanan's new book on GBTV, [Glenn] Beck suggested that Buchanan could be completely open on his show. "It's OK, I know you work at MSNBC. I know the lion's cage you have to go into," Beck said, grabbing Buchanan's hand and mock consoling him. "You don't have to even mention you were here. It's OK." "What you don't understand is that I'm like a Jesuit missionary to the Iroquois over there," Buchanan said, chuckling. "No, that's my home network, and I enjoy working over there." Beck broke out again in laughter. "I believed him," he said. "I believed him."(Emphasis added)
Unfortunately for the lefties filled with hate and bigotry, and whose outlandish antics and name-calling only helped boost sales, Patrick J. Buchanan will be coming back to the reservation, MSNBC, with yet another best seller under his belt.
